While the Democrat party "appears" to be trying to help, it is no help to anyone when you continue to spread "victim mentality" and justify all kinds of new wrong-doing because it reinforces your political goals. All you have to do to see the true nature of the Democrat party is to look to the cities they control. If you refuse to do that, if you don't have the eyes to see, then nobody can help you.
Forcibly demanding that others, who have done nothing to victimize anyone, must pay restitution makes no logical sense, is unconstitutional, and further perpetuates the victim mentality. Causing harm to others because of some perceived harm you have endured solves nothing.
For the record, both the Democrat and the Republican party are missing the mark in a lot of areas and I don't identify as either/or, but I'll remind you that the Republican party was formed because the Democrats were SO wrong in their policies that it was a must to balance that out. 99.9% of the time, the answer to our "differences" is somewhere in the middle.
What you are not seeing is that convincing someone they are a victim IS suppression in its purest form. Allowing someone to convince you that you are a victim is called MENTAL ENSLAVEMENT. Where will it end? We have ALL been victimized at some point in time.
I see no demand for "restitution" for the grandchildren of poor white share-croppers who were suppressed by the same forces as the slaves. One of my uncles was born in a cotton field because my grandmother had to pick cotton from sun up to sun down. She then continued to pick her required daily quota of cotton while she cradled her newborn. That's my history, but I'm not sitting in it.
No demand for "restitution" for women, even though we weren't freed until long after male slaves. My maternal ancestors were forced to live out lives that in no way aligned with their dreams, themselves slaves to a patriarchal society, but I didn't stay home and swim in that! Why? Because those same people instilled in me the need and the drive to "do better"! To take what they had managed to win for me and to run with it.
I'd like to note that women are still fighting that battle every day and winning. Not by violence, but in peaceful solidarity and dogged determination, aligning with those who recognize our value to society as a whole and ignoring naysayers while we prove them wrong. The past won't heal itself when there are those who will continue to pick at it to serve their own agenda. Stop perpetuating the victim role in these power games. ~ gmj
